Newdex is a decentralized exchange that based on EOS, keeping clear of user’s private key. Therefore, you need to own an EOS account yourself before trading.
Scatter is a third party EOS wallet through which you can create or import EOS account. Scatter has been recommended by many EOS nodes, such as generEOS and EOSNewYork. The source code is available on https://github.com/GetScatter.
Newdex can't guarantee the security of Scatter, nor is Newdex responsible for the security of Scatter. Please check it objectively before using it.
Content below is the using steps only for Scatter Desktop.
Scatter Desktop Download Address:
Click https://github.com/GetScatter/ScatterDesktop/releases, and download the corresponding installation package on the basis of your computer system.
Open Scatter after the setup is completed. It should be noticed that the operating steps would be different depending on having an EOS account already or not, which will be introduced respectively in the following content.
Operating Steps are as follows:
1.Set up a wallet password (at least 8 digits), then click to create a new wallet.
2.Once created, enter the mnemonic page and copy the mnemonic on your notebook. Mnemonic is very important, please ensure you have it backed up in case that the Scatter wallet password is forgot and you needs the mnemonic to find your wallet back. Once copy was finished, click ‘Okay’ to the next step.
3.Read and agree the Terms.
4.Customize the wallet name (the wallet name will not affect the normal use).
5.Choose your automatic backup location.
6.Create an Identity. Once completed the Identity name, other information are all optional.
6.1.Import account private key. (The Step 6.1 to Step 6.4 are suitable for users who already owns an EOS account. Users that need to create an EOS account please skip these steps and jump to Step 7.1.)
6.2.Customize your private key nickname. Select a gate to import according to your private key backup method (here we take the example of using text).
6.3 Import EOS private key and wait for verification from the block. 
6.4 When it comes out as below, the import should be done.
7.1 Create an EOS account. (Step 7.1 to Step 7.4 are suitable for users without EOS account that need to create one. Users who have gone through the Step 6 is expected to skip these steps and jump to Step 8.)
7.2 Wait for the system to generate the public key and private key, then click to view details.
7.3 Click the EOS public key, copy it and then paste it in a TXT file or Word file (corresponding private key has been backed up to Scatter wallet file automatically, as follows).
7.4 Provide the public key that just generated friends that can help you to create an EOS account on EOS main chain and let them help you to finish the creation of the EOS account. Please be notice that you must not provide your private key to others. It should be done by friends that you trust. And you should require them to set the public key that you provide as the public key of Owner Authority and Active Authority (creating a account requires Ram, hence the help needs to come from an account owner with an EOS account that has enough Ram), you can use your EOS account once creation is finished.
8. So far, you has finished the Scatter wallet setup, you can return to Newdex and click on the ‘Sign In’ button and it will jump to the Scatter authorization block.
9. Congratulations! You can start to order and trade.
